Founded in 2024, our organization carries forward the mission of standing in the gap for those impacted by the justice system. What started as a singular calling to help the incarcerated and their families has expanded into a movement of Hope for all.

Today, we provide more than just programs; we offer a pathway to a 2nd chance, delivering the mental and spiritual tools anyone needs to build a better life, a stronger home, and a great Growth Journey. Operating out of Chico, California, this dedicated outreach program is built on 3 primary goals: to see the lost saved, to restore hope through a second chance, and to reconnect individuals to the local church.

You may ask, "What does a Bible Mentalist actually do?" As a visionary leader and the heart behind CA Jail Outreach and Camp Growth, I specialize in a deep, analytical approach to restoration. I do not just read the Word; I analyze the heart and the mind to unlock a true Growth Journey.

Applying the same analytical rigor found in the military’s Advanced Strategist Program, I look at life's challenges not just as problems to be solved, but as terrains to be navigated and conquered through the Word. My military training taught me to see the "why" behind the "what," and I apply that same strategic mindset to help you break through spiritual and mental barriers.

Through inspiring books, moving memoirs, insightful podcasts, and fresh online video content, I break down the Holy Bible and raw life experience to provide you with the mental and spiritual tools to keep going. By weaving together the wisdom of the Word, personal experience, and the strength of the local church, we are building stronger communities 1 life at a time. A Life Forged in Faith and Service

My journey is a testament to resilience and Solid Wisdom, built on a foundation of profound faith and military excellence. My life has been shaped by a 22-year military career and by a commitment to the Gospel since 1979.

My Foundation of Faith & A Soldier for Christ: My walk with the Lord began on June 10, 1979, when I was saved, followed by my baptism on June 24, 1979. At 18, I felt the Lord's calling to become a preacher during a Christian Camp and surrendered my life to the Gospel. I spent 3 formative years at Bible College, where I honed my skills in preaching and serving the Lord—those years form the bedrock of my work today.

Military Excellence: My military career spanned 22 years, interrupted at Bible College when I was called to Active Duty in my military specialty. As a combat veteran, I served in various combat and non-combat roles, gaining unique skills in leadership, teamwork, and courage. These hard-earned lessons in leadership, faith, and strategy from the Advanced Strategist Program served as the training ground for the outreach program I lead today, and were all profoundly shaped by my own 55-year life journey.

Military Life, 11 Years In...

A Family on Mission: Life has brought both triumph and profound trial. The loss of my first wife 5 years ago was a challenging time, but through faith and the support of loved ones, I found the strength to move forward. Today, I am happily remarried to a remarkable, Godly woman. Katherine A., M.Ed., brings 17 years of educational expertise and 2 decades of outreach. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. and is the author of the faith-based toddler curriculum, "I CAN - A Journey of Faith and Growth." Together, we share the joy of our 29-year-old son and our delightful 3-year-old daughter, who brings immense joy to our lives. As a family, we serve as In-State Missionaries dedicated to sharing the path of salvation and "Planting a Seed" of hope in every child.

The Harvest at the Well: Outreach in the Marketplace

I believe the most effective outreach happens where people are actually living.

Jesus didn't wait in a religious center; He met the woman of Samaria at the Well—the place she had to go just to survive. Today, our "Wells" are the gas pumps, the grocery aisles, and the transit stops.

The Harvest is not found in the pews—it is found at the Well. By meeting a physical, immediate need with a simple "Cup of Cold Water"—like a gas card or a grocery card—we bypass the digital brain's skepticism. We don't just provide a second chance; we provide a bridge. We partner with local pastors and churches nationwide to ensure that when an individual transitions out of the system, they aren't walking alone—they are walking into a community.

CA Jail Outreach Nationwide (www.cajailoutreach.org): The "Home of Camp Growth" where strategy meets the street. Features the 1-4-4 Growth Journey Program. Averages 10k to 17k monthly connections. Distributed over 500 free physical books and Kindles to inmates and families.

Camp Growth (www.campgrowth.org): Takes "Junior" kids away from their "crazy lives" (foster care or parents in the jail system) for a week of transformation. Provides 100% scholarships for a week of learning about faith, leadership, and character.

The Growth Journey Podcast (International) (www.GrowthJourneyPodcast.org): A movement navigating listeners through life to make their growth journey rich, growing in faith, and healing families. Reached over 27k "gold dot" listeners across every state, with expanding military outreach.

The Nicodemus Effect: A Movement of Quiet Restoration

As CEO and Founder of Growth Journey International, I have dedicated my life and ministry to sharing the hope, healing, and saving truth of Jesus Christ with people seeking restoration, purpose, and a deeper walk with God.

What began two years ago in Chico, California, as a podcast to support families with loved ones in the jail system has grown into an international Gospel-centered outreach. As people began listening, sharing, and responding far beyond California, it became clear that many were coming not only for support but also to grow in their faith. That growth led to what is now the Growth Journey International Podcast.

Through the podcast and the Nicodemus Effect, I now reach more than 27,000 “gold dot” listeners. The Nicodemus Effect reflects my heart for those who, like Nicodemus in Scripture, are drawn to Jesus quietly and privately as they seek truth without fear of judgment. Today, the Nicodemus Effect is for those who quietly turn to our digital platforms to explore the Gospel in private, without fear of judgment.

We are also praying for God to open doors for this message to reach military bases and jails through Stars and Stripes, including the “blue dots” represented on the map. I remain humbled by what God continues to do through this mission, and I give Him all the glory.
